Does my home need Insulation?

One of the best ways to make your home more comfortable and cost-efficient year round, is to install insulation in your attic. Insulation slows down the rate of heat transfer from your attic to the inside of your house. Your home may need insulation when:

  • You have a home built before 1980
  • You are uncomfortably cold in the winter or hot in the summer
if you install new siding/roofing/ addition
  • Your electric bill is high,
  • If you hear loud exterior noises
  • You have less than 10 inches of insulation

Call or email NECS to get your insulation estimate.  We offer free home insulation assessments to ensure you get the perfect insulation you need to start saving money on your energy bills.

What is R-Value

Insulation is measured by something called "R-Value".  R-Value is the measurement of resistance to heat flow. The materials in insulation have tiny pockets of trapped air. These pockets of air trap the heat. Thus, resisting the transfer of heat throughout the insulation. The higher the R-Value, the better the insulation material's ability to resist the flow of heat through it.
